Oaks Medical Center provides several lab tests with immediate results. They are as follows:

Lipid Panels – Cholesterol
CBC (Complete Blood Count)
Hbg A1c Hemoglobin (used in monitoring diabetic status)
PT/INR (used in monitoring effects of anti-coagulate)
Rapid Strep Test
Urinalysis
Mononucleosis Test
Flu Screening
Dexa scan® - Bone Density
Many insurance companies will pay all or co-pay benefits if this scan is performed in a doctor’s office. If the test is performed in a hospital, most insurance companies will apply it to your yearly deductible.  Check with your insurance for coverage. See insurance page for a link to check your insurance benefits online.

When it is necessary to send tests to an outside facility, Oaks Medical Center has no control over the length of time it takes to receive your results.  The normal turnaround on these tests is 48 to 72 hours. However, once your test results are received by our office your medical record must be pulled and the results reviewed by the ordering physician. This may create a delay if the physician/provider is not working on the day the results are received. If you have questions or have not heard from us in within a week, please call the appropriate office or send an e-mail to the Nurse’s desk in the space provided below.

If the results are within a normal range you will receive a letter from our office stating that the test was within the normal range.  If you have questions regarding the test submit an e-mail directly to the Nurse’s desk from this page or call the appropriate office and leave a message for the Nurse’s desk.

If the results were abnormal our office will first try to contact you by phone. If we are unable to reach you, a letter with the results will be sent to you stating the test was abnormal and asking you to contact our appropriate office for more information and/or scheduling an office visit.

Please remember, the Nurse’s Desk is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.  A nurse is not available on this desk after 3 p.m. weekdays or during weekends.
